Becoming a MemberWhen you are ready to become a member, it is necessary to meet with a minister or the Board President. When we have “UU 101” classes, it is recommended that you attend such a class. The rights and responsibilities of membership include: subscribing to UUWH’s Mission Statement, understanding our organization and the nature of Unitarian Universalism, and making a pledge to support the congregation with time, talent, and treasure. If you are currently a member of another Unitarian Universalist church, you may choose to join UUWH and keep your other membership. When you join the church, you will sign the Membership book at a New Member Ceremony and you will affirm the following: After much thought and meditation, this Spiritual Path is the one I have freely chosen. To this congregation I pledge my talents, time, financial support, and love. I pledge that I will not cease in my quest for spiritual knowledge. I accept fully the responsibilities inherent in the life that encompasses the Seven Principles, and pledge myself to affirm and promote:
